Training
For over fifty years, an important part of IRF's mission has been the organization and delivery of training workshops that provide continuing professional development for individuals and contributes to the dissemination of knowledge and expertise throughout the world.
IRF’s Global Training Curriculum
The IRF Global Training Curriculum provides technical expertise in an intimate classroom setting where attendees can learn from and have direct access to seasoned professionals. Each course not only provides the most relevant, up-to-date information and best practices and solutions, but is also designed to assist attendees in learning to correctly apply the knowledge gained. At the conclusion of each course, students are tested to ensure they have properly learned the course material. Those who pass the test are given a certificate.
Course duration can be reduced or expanded to suit specific training needs. IRF also offers customized training that can be developed to meet any specific needs within the road and transport technology sectors.
IRF's Global Training Curriculum currently holds courses in three technical areas:
- Road Safety
- Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
- Traffic Engineering
Road Safety
Design and Operation of Work Zone Control
Duration: 3 Days
Course Description
This course provides participants with information on the safest and most efficient work zone traffic controls, including the application of effective design and installation concepts; and using signs and markings for detours, construction zones, and maintenance sites.
Road Safety Audits and Assessments
Duration: 2-3 Days
Course Description
Performing effective road safety audits/assessments, (RSAs), improves safety and demonstrates to the public an agency's dedication to crash reduction. This training provides practical information on how to conduct a RSA, location selection, building independent, multi-disciplinary teams and the steps to conduct s successful RSAs.
Traffic Engineering
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
Duration: 3 Days
