Fully-Funded Fellowships

For five decades, the IRF has been awarding educational grants for graduate-level study in transportation-related curricula. The IRF Fellowship Program has graduated 1,264 students from 110 countries, who have attended 88 universities in 13 countries. IRF members have a unique opportunity to be a part of this one-of-a-kind program by funding a Fellowship named after their organization.

International Competition of Road Development Projects

The IRF's Global Road Achievement Awards program is a competition to honor and recognize IRF members that demonstrate excellence and innovation in road development worldwide. The program is designed to elicit information on successful projects and programs from leading industry organizations and highlight those efforts. Winners are profiled in IRF's Book of Winning Projects and World Highways.

Lobbying

The IRF is active in promoting road industry interests at national and international events and conferences, particularly those relating to transport issues in countries in economic transition.

Position Papers

Resulting from working groups on matters such as road safety and infrastructure charging, the IRF produces position papers which reach decision-makers at European and international levels.

Advisory Services

Specialist advisory services offered by the IRF provide expertise to governments and national road administrations and represent the voice of IRF members in road policy formulation.

Executive Seminars

IRF's Executive Seminars are specifically targeted at road professionals from developing countries or countries in economic transition seeking to adopt a business approach to their road-related activities. These seminars help participants to apply management techniques and expertise of the road sector. Conducted with the participation of experts from the IRF membership, the seminars are supported by the World Bank.

Influence your business environment

The IRF has a number of working groups developing strategy and policy on road financing, road safety and the environment. Members of these working groups are recognised as specialists in their respective field. The conclusions and recommendations of the working groups are widely distributed.

World Road Statistics

For more than 40 years the IRF has been publishing the most complete compilation of worldwide data on road infrastructure. Widely recognised by the World Bank and other leading agencies, this publication is free for IRF members.

IRF Awards

IRF Awards are highly published and provide a special promotion to a service or a product of its members.

IRF Man of the Year. Established in 1951, the IRF Man of the Year Award honours leaders in the road-development community who have demonstrated a profound dedication to the advancement of the world's roads.

IRF Global Road Achievement Awards is an annual competition to honor and recognize road-industry projects that demonstrate excellence and innovation in road development worldwide. The program, which is designed to elicit information on successful projects and programs from leading industry organizations, will draw attention to these leading projects and organizations, providing a road map for others to follow in continuously improving and advancing road development worldwide.

Dr. Mino Award of Excellence The Award, bestowed every four years at the IRF World Meeting, was developed to recognize and honour outstanding graduates of the IRF Fellowship Program who have leveraged their educational experience to make outstanding achievements in roadway development and planning around the world.
