The IRF Awards Programs are set up to gather information on the exemplary people and projects that place this industry at the forefront of social and economic development. By recognizing such individuals and groundbreaking projects, the IRF seeks to publicize the great positive impact that the road building industry has on the global quality of life. IRF encourages all companies and organizations in the road development sector to get involved in our Awards Program. By promoting the innovative ideas and successes of our industry, we can provide a road map for others to follow.

IRF Global Road Achievement Awards

The International Road Federation's Global Road Achievement Awards (GRAA) program is a competition to honor and recognize road-industry projects that demonstrate excellence and innovation in road development worldwide. The program, which is designed to elicit information on successful projects and programs from leading industry organizations, will draw attention to these leading projects and organizations, providing a road map for others to follow in continuously improving and advancing road development worldwide. IRF Decade of Action Find a Way Award

On May 11, 2011, the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 was launched in more than 100 countries, with one goal: to prevent five million road traffic deaths globally by 2020. Responsible and accountable road safety leadership at national, regional, city levels will be vital to the success of this venture.

Recognizing the value of political leadership to drive road safety strategies, IRF has instituted an annual "IRF Decade of Action Find A Way Award" that recognizes outstanding personal commitment to safer roads by national, regional, or city government. The Award will be presented every year on the anniversary of the launch of the Decade of Action for Road Safety.

Jamaica is the first recipient of the "IRF Decade of Action Find A Way” Award (May 11, 2012)

Dr Mino Award

The IRF Dr. Mino Award of Excellence was established in 2002 in honor of Dr. Sadamu Mino, a Class of 1954 IRF Fellow. The Award, bestowed every four years at the IRF World Meeting, was developed to recognize and honor outstanding graduates of the IRF Fellowship Program who have leveraged their educational experience to make outstanding achievements in roadway development and planning around the world. InARoaD Award

The Innovation Award for Road Transport in Developing Countries (InARoaD) is a competition recognizing exemplary projects that have made real impacts on transport in developing countries and rewarding innovative, sustainable and good practices in this field. By honoring excellence and innovation in transport the award seeks to showcase the positive impacts of improved road infrastructure and transport conditions on the quality of life of communities and its vital contribution to poverty reduction, thus encouraging decision-makers and practitioners worldwide to implement such solutions. IRF Student Essay Competition
